Passione Restaurant / London England

Restaurants seem to have a very simple way to rate each place, at least it is simple for the rock and roll chef. I’m go out in the first place for the food and service. The rock and roll chef only looks at the price when it comes to the food and the service. I do not mind if I have to pay more for great ingredients and a service level is beyond my expectation. It is just wrong when the food is not good, and the service in none.

I use:
- No Way (Never Return)
- OK (Could Return / But Might Not Return)
- Shidoobee (Great / Will Return)

Gennaro Contaldo was a native of the Amalfi coast in Southern Italy. Growing up in this beautiful and unspoilt part of the world, his was a boyhood of fishing, game hunting and picking wild herbs & mushrooms; quickly he developed a deep knowledge of nature and the outdoors. His passion for food coupled with an ability to create dishes from natural, simple ingredients has followed him throughout his career as a chef. His menu at Passione is full of natural, wild food, such as rocket, sorrel, fungi - many of these ingredients are collected by himself time permitting.

The owner Chef Gennaro Contaldo is a great Chef, his menu is just what you would want in an Italian menu. The food is cooked perfectly, presented professionally, and reasonably priced. The dining room is small with just a few tables, making an intimate dinner just that much more special. I highly recommend that when in London, you visit Passione Restaurant without fail. The presentation of Chef Gennaro Contaldo’s dishes are top class, with a reason.

Shidoobee!
