Located on the second floor above a surf shop La Cucaracha has a welcoming décor. The short walk up the stairs to the restaurant invites you in to the world of La Cantina dining. There is an air conditioned inside, or choose to sit on the open air balcony.
Everywhere one looks, the walls are packed with Mexican stuff. A sombrero rack awaits an excellent photo opportunity.
This is a place that one can dine solo, with your love, or with your family! Our waitress was polite, professional, and very helpful with menu suggestions. Our chips and salsa arrived, and with every sip on my margarita, the chips and salsa tasted even better. We ordered a burrito, rice and beans were included. This burrito was tasty, and worth what we paid to eat some Mexican wonder. This is good food and it is food value!
Highly recommend La Cucaracha Mexican Bar & Grill in Waikiki, we returned back twice during our visit to Hawaii. La Cucaracha is well within walking distance from anywhere in Waikiki, and the stroll over is romantic. We had a wonderful evening, great food, great service, great price, and it was just great being together. After dinner we went out around Waikiki for a walk, a nice cap to a super evening. Do visit and support this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
